The destruction of EVERYTHING

*This is not the most interesting post for others, but for me it is.

You know, in life, things change. Sometimes you are never aware of these changes. They are just part of your evolution. Sometimes a change is forced upon you by others. Then there are those personal times, when you're by yourself and something hits you in the face and says "Wake-up!"

Yesterday I attended a seminar on Adobe After Effects. It's to motion images what Photoshop is to the still image. Production of the moving image is the direction I want to head in over the next few years. I've dabbled but never really understood the creativity behind it. Yesterday, just like an epiphany, I got it. I watched a Foxtel boxing promo being put together and I now understand. I know it's not beyond me and I know exactly that this is my next evolution in creativity. Later in the evening I was sitting on the lounge watching TV and as per usual the very repetitive Discovery Sc commercials came on and I saw them in a whole new light. I saw them as layers, blend modes and compositions. I sat and deconstructed each commercial as it came on. TV was no longer TV. I can't look at a commercial as a commercial ever again. It's now all new. Every ad is processed, I can see the techniques used and how it was comped together. You may not notice the adjustment layers, the high passes and then screening modes but I can see them now.

So, while I was watching TV with new eyes and thought processes I sat eating my usual Friday night dinner of Pringles and beer. And then *slap* another realisation. I don't really like Pringles that much anymore. This is BIG news. I used to sit and easily eat a whole tube of these chips in one sitting. Now it felt like I was eating some sort of weird salty tasteless crap. I then realised that the previous Pringles that I bought was a few weeks ago and I wasn't really into them then either. My tastes have changed. This morning I found myself wandering around the local markets picking up bags of fresh peas and beans. Lately when I've been out for a pub meal I find myself ordering a side dish of green beans. I could just sit and eat them by the bowl. I cooked some up the other night for dinner. Just a single bowl of beans, lightly blanched, then transfered to a fry pan, tossed in the smallest bit of butter to make them shine, a drop or two of sesame oil and freshly toasted sesame seeds.

TV has changed. Food has changed. Where will this all end? How will this all end? These questions I know not the answers, but somehow my evolution continues.

MMMM, Beans. After you've cooked them, lightly blanch them in butter then squeeze some lemon juice in with some cracked pepper - tasty!

You think WAY too much. You seriously sit and think about this sort of stuff? I mean, in a way, it's pretty cool that you do. I'd like to get inside your mind one day.

Beans are awesome... they've been my green veg of choice for as long as I can remember!

So I skipped the nerdy stuff and got to the food part. The other night I had a dinner of boiled rice, broad beans and peas and was as happy as a clam. Or is it lamb? Anyway, beans, peas, broad beans are all wonderful. Eat up.

Career and crisp realisations both on the one day. A red letter day.

Awww, our little Muz is growing up. Moving from chips to something (shock, horror) healthy?

I say roll with the evolution, this could mean some exciting times ahead. Me, I'm rather stagnant in that respect... I'm just waiting for the next 'big wave' to hit... still waiting.

Oh, and you'll have to explain to me (using small words) just what goes into making a TVC, I always figured it was just bright colours and lots of shouting.

What you did was 'Mindless Eating', have done that for years until I saw the light. [some lapses have been involved]. I love beans!

I never would have thought of combining butter with sesame oil for vegetables. Am now addicted.
