It's very moving.

I'm very impressed with the view from my new bedroom (pictured above). There is a nice belt of green streets and parks between me and the wall of city towers.

It's a very weird feeling moving to a new part of town. I keep feeling like I'm a tourist in a foreign land. There is a different set of people, unfamiliar sounds and I haven't a clue which restaurant is going to dish up the best food. My task now is to discover.

Last night I left the building and walked the streets in search of food. They were buzzing with neon lights and people. I came to one of the many Thai restaurants. Pad Thai is the dish I judge a Thai restaurant by. I grabbed take-away and headed back up to the roof of my new apartment block. I can see me enjoying beers up here on sunny afternoons. *Mental note, I need a new esky.

This was a good move. I smile and feel VERY happy with my decision - except for my choice for dinner. Not great, was like noodles, chicken and tomato sauce. But that too is a good thing... I now can continue the local search for the restaurant that makes a good Pad Thai.

That's very close to the view I had near my hotel when I was there last week (and looking at the file name for the photo it's no wonder)... if you're near Macleay Street try the Opuim Den for Thai, India Down Under for Indian and Macleay Pizza for pizza ;)

Also, if you now live in an art deco apartment block I may have to come back to Sydney just to kill you :P

I think I can see you in the distance from my place, East from you in Edgecliff.....

Poor wee Muz, lost in the wilderness. "Muzbot in Wonderland"

Hmmm... that's right near where I was staying at Christmas time...

There's a fab fish restaurant called The Sardine Room on Challis Avenue, where the fabulous manageress spoon fed me my panna cotta - because it looked like a breast (her reasoning, not mine...!)

I enjoyed lots of cake at a cafe in Potts Point called The Yellow House (I think that's what it's called).

I didn't try any Thai and, of course, no beer touched my lips at any point.... ahem...

I'm so jealous. I'm in the middle of an industrial estate at the moment and the nearest we're getting to culinary excellence is a burger van. Oh! the gloom and depression.

Great picture! Moving someplace new is always exciting, yet unsettling at the same time. You'll get used to it and be just fine...and have fun!
