From here to here to here...

Not having a climbing partner is actually a bit of a pain... But I'm not going to let that stop me, so this morning I gave indoor bouldering a go. And let me tell you, it's f*#kin' hard work. I could only manage a few holds before I was down on the mats, looking up at where I was and thinking to myself, "Thank God there are no other climbers here laughing at me!" But, after giving it a go, I now have a better idea of what I need to work on to improve.

Hey Muz, that looks like fun but you don't seem to have any safety equipment with you. Be careful.

Sandy - thanks, but to tell you the truth, the new shoes were killing me! I really need to trim my toenails next time I give this a go. :)

Crystal - I'm actually only a few feet off the ground there and there are some big soft mats under where I constantly fell. If I was going to go higher I would have required a spotter. I was just traversing from left to right.

A new angle on you Muz, nice. Fit li'l bugger you are. Looks like a lot of fun.

Would they laugh though ?

I think you're quite courageous to be trying something like this alone and publically, and would like to think if I was a bit of a gun, that i'd simply go up to you and say "hey, not bad, what you might like to try is ...."

But then, i'm so far removed from the gym-affiliated-type of institution, i'm probably hoping all the b*tches left in the 80's.

No ?

i'm impressed, looks like your having fun, and you know that falling (safely) can be the best part :)

I've tried this and been to the top a whole once! And that was an easy straight wall...

You're right - it's damn hard, but it is fun. See if you can drag a friend along so you can have a spotter. It's a great feeling when you do get to the top.

This is really hard, but very satisfying. Keep at it Muzbot - the shoes will help you improve!

very impressive, you make the obvious difficulty look easy...

I must try that stuff one day...
